Re: E-3 Visa 2010 Running Thread

So this has also been a point of much discussion on this forum. What would be considered a mistake?

Some think that the Point of Entry officer should only give till the expiry date of the visa...

Are you able to get an E3 visa issued if the terms...

Re: E-3 To H1B - Any Experiences?

Bahamas wont process 3rd Country Nationals unless its a simple renewal (with no changes). If its change of employer, or change of visa type or a new visa, they declined.

Re: E-3 Visa 2009 Thread

My understanding is that if you are laid off you are "out of status" and should leave the country within 10 days. You can't claim unemployment (obviously). Being "out of status" is not good... but...

Re: E-3 Visa 2009 Thread

How were you able to get a visa with an LCA expiration date after the visa expiration date? My understanding was the LCA should only be issued for a 2 year period for E3 partitioners. E3 Visas are...

Re: E-3 Visa 2009 Thread

So whats the rule? is it that entry should be given till the visa expires, or when the LCA expires? (which in theory is a few weeks before when the Visa expires?).

Of course, USCIS will havea ...

Re: E-3 Visa 2009 Thread

I don't know much, but to me, if USCIS doesnt know about it, I think its a bit suspect to rely on a mistake by the POE officer.

If you think about it, when the consulate or USCIS pulls up your...

Re: E-3 Visa 2009 Thread

no worries ... flying 5 or 6 people across the country just for visa's isnt much fun... driving makes it way more palatable.

Do you already have an appointment in Vancouver?

Re: E-3 Visa 2009 Thread

Re: E-3 Visa 2009 Thread

Hi 0161,

I did this exact same thing about 12 months ago. The E3 is not actually transferred, you are applying for a new E3. I got my original E3 in 2006 in Sydney.

My employer sprung for...

Re: E-3 Visa 2009 Thread

Hi Laland,

I dont know why you would want to change from a H1 to an E3. The portability rules on the H1 are much better if you need to change jobs again. The only benefit for the E3 is...

Actually, I dont think this would be a problem... as far as I know there is not a required minimum employment time. There is a maximum visa period of 2yrs, and is easily renewable.

As long as you...
