I have heard that the supply of beer in Canada, or at least BC, is Government controlled. So I take this to imply that there is some great beer Tzar who decides what brews can and cannot pass through...

Hmmm, interesting. Prompted by your thoughts, I read the Alliance and Leicester's terms and conditions....and, as kt0157 suggested, it's simply because they don't want to incur the hassle/potential...

Looks like no-one on this site knew, the answer but if anyone else wants to know (& 104 of you have looked at this post), the answer from the Canadian High Commission in London is "up to 6 months"...
