yeah you're probably right, well the menu didn't exactly look inspiring either !
also the street is swamped with F1 stuff this week..lots of nice cars though - ferraris porsches etc. complete with...

I live on plateau/downtown border (near sherbrooke metro), it's a really nice area, loads of nice cafes and bars, and also easy to get everywhere else. Maybe you'll be here in time for the jazz fest!...

to confirm the above- my work permit took less than 2 weeks as well. I arrived at montreal airport on saturday and also the customs/immigration process (basically to get the actual permit)...
