stni is a permanent entry but you can still go and temp / 457 visa, dependent on job alot of the agencies will help you sort this. I was contacted a few months ago to go on 457 visa, turned it down...

We applied to Tra in November 05, accepted Jan 06. Applied for Visa Feb 06 and was granted June 06 (STNI visa). Now stuck with trying to sell the house which seems to be our main stumbling block...
