Well HR said I can not work during the lapse in my permit, but did say I can take a leave absence during that time so that I don't lose my benefits. So I guess I should just be happy that I can stay...

My K3 visa and work permit are fixing to expire mid February. So long as I've filied for adjustment of status by then I can stay legally and work legally, right?
