Alternative to Making work pay credit (Schedule M) for 2011 Tax Returns?

We are in the middle of filing our tax returns and were wondering if anyone knows if there is an alternative to Schedule M (Making work pay credit) when filing for 2011 Tax-returns this year?

Yes, we have been living outside the UK, together, since we got married more than 4 years ago.

BTW, this has not happened to us (and hopefully won't) but I am a little concern in scenario if this...

I hope it works out for ya. We are planning something similar where we are hoping to be there by March sometime using the current 4+ year marriage rule where my wife can then apply for Settlement...
