Do days that a PR spends outside Canada with their Canadian born child count as physical days in Canada in terms of meeting the PR residency obligation?

The federal part of the process took only 7.5 months from when I applied to when I received my visa.

Waiting periods do not count. If that was the case many skilled worker applicants would immediately by-pass becoming PR's when they land and would instead become Canadian citizens.
