I'm trying to get round the maze that is the http://ukinnewzealand.fco.gov.uk/en/ and honestly I cannot work this out.

I just want to renew my childrens passports but I cannot see how I can call...

For IT we found NZ soooooo much easier - maybe its because I had the right skills. For Oz they wanted us to live in some gorforsaken place away from all the work!!! Anyway NZ took us straightaway...

North shore, north shore north shore WOOOOO!. Can be a be a bit crowded getting into town but atleast its the (only one) motor way and you get to live near really great bays!

I was under the impression that work permits were hard unless you were in demand (it, nursing, etc) and already had a job offer or were a youngster

My recommenddation is based on the following quote from immi in london "we don't issue work permits while a residency application is in progress" - like I said else where I nearly lost my job offer...

Nah, he sounds like he was english. In which case depsite being a ghost he will have obeyed the lights ( well atleast while there were witnesses). The workmen probably also obeyed the lights ;)

Just be absolutely certain that you can do things the way they tell you. Get it in writing if you can. I just say this as I had issues where one dept told me one thing and then another something...

Stu, I would really recommend getting a job offer. Experience will count with the employer. I was consultant/contractor in the Uk from 12 years. I am now in a permie job in Auckland. I got the offer...
