We had a good look at Arnprior, but fell in love with the Carleton Place area, and bought a house about 10mins west of it, close to Hwy 7 on the way to Perth.

It took us a couple of months after landing to buy a house. Once we did, we simply phoned the number on the form you're given upon arrival, and the cards came in the mail a few days later. Simple.
