Worked in the scottish Prison service for 10 years and nz for past two, there are lots of prison officers here from english service. I work at Rimutaka, which is the jail next to the prison...

Big news at jail last week, all units going 8 to 5, we are now 70 officers short in Wellington region alone.

Know a lot of Officers still coming out from Scotland who missed the recruitment drive in England. As far as I know, they contacted the Department and had to fly out at own expense for interview....

Finished work on 23/12 fly out on 9th January and start at establishment on 13th February and at college on 27th so will see you there.

You need to be sure these policies cover a one way trip and not a single trip - returning to UK - as most policies only operate if you are returning to UK - worth checking as otherwise policy may not...

I would recommend yes - we depart in January and have just arranged Travel insurance online via Post Office - they do a policy for a one way trip.
