I wouldn't pay too much attention to dbd...yes we have the bugs but just like everyone else. The winters are cold and wet and the summers are dry and apart from the current season I haven't noticed...

We live in northern York Region (Aurora) and I would say we have all the access and facilities you need. There are still a lot of nice areas although the growth is very fast and in some areas...

- Jan 2005 - family arrived on Work Permits after intra company transfer

For a day's skiing which is about having fun rather than testing, Blue Mountain is the best and other than the private clubs I prefer Mount St Louis Moonstone. Certainly not the same as out West but...

Another option is to head to Boston area...about 10 hour drive on an excellent road. The North shore around Rockport has some great coastline and to the south there are some very nice beaches as well...

Short of a 15 hour drive I'd stick to either Toronto Islands and Lake Ontario or head up to Wasaga Beach and Georgian Bay.

We did the Island last Friday with the kids and took our bikes over on the ferry. A great day out, some very nice beaches and a superb view back to the city. Highly recommended!

For the Canadian checks, we sent ours to Ottawa and they sent the results directly to London CIC. It took just under 3 months for them to process it and send it on.

Don't forget Toronto is a very large city (5th largest in NA??) and as a result does have a lot of urban sprawl.....however as usual dbd feels the need to spread his misery to others and also gives...
