We got ours in Jan this year and had to visit by 23rd Aug to validate.

We asked if only 1 person could visit or if we could postpone the visit. Told, no we all had to validate in 6 months or move...

Yes you can drink, but only in bars and restaraunts.
The Burj Al Arab offered us tea in the Sky Bar, but as it is a bar the children cannot go, so we are in the 2nd floor lobby. Sure it will be out...

Yes, flying with Emirates.
Used Quantas last time from Heathrow via Singapore.
Now Emirates go from Glasgow so it cuts the trip to London off and shortens the time for us.

We visited Perth a year last Easter.
3 weeks, more holiday than a rekkie.

We are vaguely familiar with the area we wish to settle in. Having some family there will help.
