Im an ODP in Sydney. I can only get work in private hospitals as most public hospitals only have Anaesthetic Nurses. Work is easy to come by as they are pretty desparate for anaesthetic staff. ...

Check the anaesthetic machine, check the patients in, prepare airway stuff, assist anaesthetist putting patients to sleep, keeping them asleep and waking them up, etc etc.

An ODP is basically an anaesthetic technician over here. In England we do the same job as anaesthetic nurses, although here I believe it may be slightly different. We assist the anaesthetist around...
