NZ Defacto - Time question

Quick question really - after getting a Defacto/spouse visa - do you need to then enter NZ within any specific time frame? if so - for how long?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Sorry I should add that I am a NZ citizen - we both currently live (together) in the UK.

And part of my confusion is that is suggests that I need to be living in NZ to sponsor her?

Yeah its definitely a personal thing.

I've lived in both countries, NZ for 8 years , UK for 7 (and currently) as well as Oz for 17 years. My personal choice from the 3 is NZ by some distance...
