Just the applicant needs to go for the medical and x-ray - that is on the basis of your wife and children being australian citizens.

The cost depends on the hospital and health centre. I cannot...

We don't have any specific travel guides, but our boy (2 & 1/2 - younger I know) is finding about Aus animals etc from story books such as:
