Even if you pay for the Post Office’s “Digital Check & Send” service, you still need a countersignatory:

I know him professionally, just as an accountant.
I can assume that a very large percentage simply doesn’t follow this rule and cheat.

Regarding Dubai (and similar cases), the countersignatory must hold a British, Irish, EU, US or Commonwealth passport. I don’t think it’s comfortable for people to disclose their citizenship,...
