Just to clarify: when I say travel to the US as a married couple, I am not meaning to adjust my status; my plan would be to stay for the 90 days (as I usually do when visiting) then travelling back...

The plan is to get married at some point yes but not to adjust status. We are well aware of immigration laws and policies.
