The other problem though is that I think SW's fund managers are hopeless. I can move around the various SW offerings to my heart's content but they seem amazingly good at consistently losing value...

I think you're saying though that at some stage the pension must have a built-in mechanism to pay out even if I do nothing? If so, I'll check that...
