Thank you for the replies. Passed a building site yesterday, saw lots of wooden pallets stacked up so stopped and asked if we could take some. No problem, so now have the wood to complete a garden...

Social security number

Went to make doctors appointment yesterday and the receptionist said we need a social security number? She said we didn't need it last year but it is now mandatory to have one?

Can anyone recommend a good hay fever/antihistamine tablet that I can buy here in the Algarve?

I have the same problem, need to put reading glasses on over the lenses which sort of defeats the object! Optician did say I could get multivison lenses which would cost €26 per month so thinking...

Daily lenses were fantastic, very comfortable and easy to remove. Thought I was on to a winner, but when it came to ordering them, was told the monthly price would be €65, way over what I had...

Had a thorough eye test at Multioptica in Aqua shopping centre yesterday and awaiting delivery of some disposable contact lenses suitable for 'dry eyes'.

RA - you are probably right in saying technology has moved on with contact lenses over the years. I have always had gas permeable lenses, so guess I'm just used to them but happy to move onto...

yes it's a cisterna but we have a local delivery of water when needed. We buy bottled bottle to drink.
