Re: My job went to India and all I got was this lousy T-Shirt

Hmm - and what % of target did IBM ANZ or NZ hit last quarter?

I certainly wouldn't ever class a job with IBM in any country as secure!!

Re: Heat Pumps

We've got 5 Daikin's at home (run off one outside multi-split unit), and a Fujitsu one at the Bach - impressed with both of them, although the Daikin has more adjustability (timers, air-flow etc) and...

Re: Porirua where's nice/ where to avoid?????/

Personally I don't...

Re: How to rent a house ?

We used www.rentabach.co.nz and www.bookabach.co.nz to find somewhere for 2 weeks when we arrived - although looking back 4 weeks may have led to less pressure!

Oh, and BTW - Kapiti means...

Re: Driving in NZ

Commute-wise...

Re: Porirua where's nice/ where to avoid?????/

Re: Football

Football is very popular - IIRC more kids play football officially here than in the UK (per capita of course). Rugby still king as far as senior teams go, but there still plenty of choice if you want...

Re: Global recession – Bad time to move to the green land?

It is harder to find IT work at the moment IMO, although jobs are still out there for talented individuals (contracting seems VERY quiet tho!) - I haven't seen much slowdown in Wellington yet, the...

Re: Kapiti Coast/Porirua general info?

One of the reasons we settled in the Hutt rather than Plimmerton where we rented at first was the lack of decent secondary schools in the area - I didn't get a good feeling about Aotea (although I've...
