If children are involved I think you will find it is a right, the home office has an obligation to protect children of British citizens. Unfortunately now citizens rights go to the highest bidder....

My Wife (Thai) has just got her passport back with her UK spouse visa granted. Her passport expires in July 2019, will she still be able to leave Thailand and Enter the UK?

Hi ABC, we don't actually know the decision yet, it could still be a refusal.

We have had no emails only an SMS text to my girlfriend saying the decision was made and it is ready for collection....

My wife got an sms today saying her spouse visa was ready for collection, but the supporting documents have not been returned to me (TB certificate, English certificate, marriage certificates etc).....

I see, but I thought it should be pointed out that for many applications they will be forced to pay in US$ and the fee will often be more than advertised... Certainly was for me.

I don't want to be argumentative but here is my invoice from visa4uk, you will see I had to pay in US$ for a UK visa in Bangkok. It is also on the GOV.UK website that it is denominated in US$, here...

As far as I'm aware Bangkok is not in the US.... pretty sure most, if not all applications outside the UK have to be paid in US$

As far as I understand it, if you are applying from outside the UK the actual visa fee is $2071, so if your currency moves against the dollar you may pay more.... that is what happened to me last...

No charge added by my bank.... for applicants outside the uk the home office set a US$ amount to pay, if the exchange rate moves you will pay more than the £ amount... hence me paying far more than...

Due to the fact you pay in $ the actual fees are even higher:

My visa cost £1596.02 and IHS an eye watering £1257.71.... priority £740...

Visa4uk is the old online form that is still active and accessuk is the new one... why they have left both running is anyone's guess... just adds more confusion. With visa4uk you upload supporting...
