Re: North and South islands - Climate Advice & wher to live for lifestyle

I suppose it's anywhere with a few shops, enough to get by for day to day groceries with the option of eating out or just grabbing a quick coffee (in my case Tea as I detest coffee) πŸ™‚

With regards...

Re: North and South islands - Climate Advice & wher to live for lifestyle

Funnily enough, Cardiff for me is only 20 minutes away or one stop on the train, but I can't think of anything worse than spending my time there shopping etc. The only time I visit the capital is...

Why did you move to New Zealand?

I've read some interesting posts on this forum; in particular the 'negative side of making the move' to NZ (which has all been very helpful by the way). I know I can't speak on behalf of every...

Re: Should we move to NZ?

Thanks for your feeback, the comfort blanket is merely a phrase of knowing we have a home in the UK should we decide to return. Not huge fans of European countries so would never invest there.

We...

Great post by the way!

We are considering the Nelson area. We are in our 40s and if we did make the move it would be in a few years time. For us we are looking for a better climate and the...

What are your main reasons for wanting to return to the UK if you could do things differently though? Is it financial, family or not what you thought it was?

We are doing our decision trip in...

Re: Moving to NZ, what would have done differently, what are you so glad you did

I hope I am not hijacking the thread by asking those of you who have said "you would have kept your property in the UK" or "a 2 year trial run", is this because in hindsight, you would have returned...

re: North and South islands - Climate Advice & wher to live for lifestyle

Not on a half decent day no. Everyone has the same idea which with our weather you can't really blame them. I also don't intend on driving 2 hours plus to find a beach that's possibly a lot quieter.

re: North and South islands - Climate Advice & wher to live for lifestyle

Bearskin, Bevs & justcol, thank you for the tips and advice. I'll add these to my research list.

Is NZ dog friendly i.e. is there lots of places where they accept dogs?

Thanks again,
