Hi

hope you can help. My visa ran out a month or so ago and I am now looking to renew. Just an open question as to whether the process is still the same as before. I.e. embassy visit etc.

To give you an idea mine was ABH from 11 years ago and I got the feeling as soon as I started the interview there was no chance of Visa then and that the interviewer was going through the motions....

thanks for this info all. I will make it clear somehow when I send it there is a visa inserted. Lastly , a few questions on renewing visa in 5 years.

many thanks for explanation. I was under the assumption we gave our old passports back when renewing. Obviously this isn’t the case.

So I have my 5 year visa in my hand. Had my interview 12th Feb meaning it’s taken 3 months 9 days from beginning to end. Much quicker than the 6-8 months I was told at embassy.

Great news. Let us know when it’s in your hands. I had to cancel a family trip losing a fair bit of money back in February.

Hopefully I will have visa and passport in hand within a week and...

Excellent news. Was that email from DX or the embassy itself. Just so I know what to keep an eye out for.

I sent mine off on the 9th by dropping off to a DX location. I think it’s got to the embassy but who knows - hah. I hope yours is back in time and best of luck.

Email received this morning to send passport off. My appointment was 12th February so under 3 months. Fairly happy with this as can now start rearranging my family trip we had to cancel.

Okay that makes sense. I have applied for b1/b2 (think they categorise them the same ) back on Feb 12th and was refused (had to cancel hols , lose the obey etc). This was down to an abh change 10...

Can I ask what date your interview was please. Not sure what the 221g is but reason for my refusal was for an abh conviction 12 years ago.

If you read a few posts up this thread I believe Noodler commented that the email to request his passport came a few days later. It seems to take 2-3 weeks to get passport there and back so...

Many thanks. So not having an update even to say the appointment was a refusal is normal?

Has anyone got an email address as I have seen a few people say they at least got an “in progress”...
