I suppose that selling a house can require significantly varying degrees of effort depending on many factors, whereas the standard legal work on a purchase is fairly similar on almost all houses.

Flat 1000 euros for a lawyers fee sounds fair on a straightforward purchase of any price.

Why do they feel they can getaway with charging 5000 euros on 500k purchase but only charge 1k on a 100k...

Just to clarify, i am planning to buy a house and the lawyer quoted me 1% to do the legal work for the purchase.

It is the legal work for a purchase, not the sales commission.

Madrid does not have a wealth tax.

In the end i went with a Lycamobile card for 30 euros.

It has a whopping 50gb of data. Also includes a bunch of free call minutes & sms(which i don't need).

I don't have a pension. All my income comes from unit trust investments that are domiciled in Luxemburg and singapore.

Both Luxemburg and Singapore do not tax...
