Re: UK banks to stop access to funds

I don't know about that. That too? At the moment my problem lately seems to be PayPal keeps freezing my account just because I'm in Mexico. I'm bloody well "verified" back at home and everything. I...

Re: WTF in America

Yeah, and that's ironic because along the lines of "I would never ___ in the UK" goes "carry my passport in a secret compartment in my purse...and have it lost or stolen anyway!"... I'd never been...

Re: What's the Temperature & Weather like where you are now?

Stuck in Cancún and the weather positively sucks. Hot, humid, mosquitoes everywhere, they don't SELL anything that helps alleviate my arms- and legs-full of bites, at least not at any price less than...

Re: Chances of employment after 20 years abroad

Re: Chances of employment after 20 years abroad

Re: The Gringo colonies in Mexico

They'd probably do it MORE even then, assuming they could read even in Spanish. For a country that "cries out" for English teachers their people sure are illiterate in their own language.

Re: The Gringo colonies in Mexico

Yes you are absolutely right about resentment towards "Trump" and about "the Wall" and all that. It's made being an English-speaking person quite dodgy and I'm pretty sure not just here in the...

Re: UK getting a Mexican Temporary Residency Visa

Don't know if you're still here, but this is the land of mañana. I had my purse stolen on a Saturday last week, the police got it back but then they confiscated it saying it was for 'evidence' or...

Anyone in Tijuana? Anyone at all?

It was probably a bad idea to look for English teaching jobs here along the US border considering that this area is full of -- well, people who pick on anyone who speaks English, in this era of...

Re: Volunteer visa

You were probably not only the only British passport holder on your trip, but as I've been in Tijuana (and before that Juarez) about a month now, judging from the way people treat me like an...
