Re: I-551 and re-entry

All noted everyone, thank you for your responses.

Apologies for confusing the various terms. I do feel that I've got this far on a wing and a prayer without the use of a lawyer but circumstances...

Re: I-131 and long term stays outside US

Thanks for the advice. We've both prepared CV's, we're just hoping that we can find an easier solution so as not to move the kids around too much. It's not the best time in our lives to be doing this...

Re: I-131 and long term stays outside US

Thank you for this, much appreciated. I'm going to study these cases and see what I can find. Cursory glance suggests that there may be a solution to my problem.

I'll get in touch with Ms. Stock...

Re: I-131 and long term stays outside US

I can look for work there but its not an ideal plan. I've left it as a last resort for the time being.

Agreed that the risk should be minimised to the extent possible. I need to ponder on this...

Re: I-131 and long term stays outside US

This would be a big snag that I haven't really considered. I've been running on the assumption that once I stand in front of the immigration officer the 2nd time I would have my orders to attend...

I-131 and long term stays outside US

Hello all,

I've hit a major snag in my plans and need some advice.

Re: Appointment for an interview in London

Quick update, a whole bunch of slots opened up for end of Jan and throughout Feb sometime between 4pm and 5pm. Checked all day yesterday and nothing was available so there appears to be a window at...

Re: Spouse not living in USA - Visa Sponsorship

My apologies, I've confused the issue of domicile and minimum income requirements and rolled them into one. Will edit that part of the post out to make sure no one else will be confused by it.

I'm in the same boat. Tried to book an appointment for an interview (green card) and nothing is available. I'll wait for 16th Jan to pass and see what happens.

Re: Re-entry into US after receiving Green Card

It's good for me and my family if I can get shipped to basic ASAP but what I've read has led me to believe that it's not quick and easy either to join or to get citizenship. Mind you, the 180 day...

Re: Re-entry into US after receiving Green Card

Around 1 week but may be able to stretch it to 2 (and probably should).

From what I've read I think the plan should work too. I just want to make sure I'm not missing anything important.

Re: Re-entry into US after receiving Green Card

Not after boot camp. I believe I can start the citizenship process after 180 days (new regulations) and it takes 1 year after that. Citizenship is not my goal. The job is, but I will need citizenship...
