ok, very helpful thanks, so I can still do the priority service (the option 4 that I posted above) but not the one day service.

Me again, it also seems that as per the same link I can still fast track the process after the biometrics as it only states 'you must pay for the priority visa service online on the VFS Global...

Yes that's right, there is no link at all to Appendix 2, nor any mention of financial requirements. The only info they needed on me was my passport details and other basic stuff. Maybe it now comes...

I honestly can't see any link to it. The form BritInParis linked appears to be a hard copy one you have to print and submit, but all the fields we've completed are electronic. Could it be the process...

Well, according to the Visa4Uk site we've submitted all we need to do, but no mention of how we're funding the visa yet.
