Many thanks - wife got her passport yesterday, visa approved. Flights already booked.

Why would anyone be surprised that someone else is surprised by a terrible system clearly not fit for purpose?

They charge as much as 800% more than the cost of processing the visa and don't give...

Forgive my ignorance but how does it work if the spouse visa is only for 33 months but they can't apply for indefinite leave to remain until they've been in the UK for 5 years or more? Do we have to...

I do. I think anyone who has had delays or issues with the Sheffield office should email them. The more people who do, the more likely they will look at it. I don't think it will speed anything up...

According to them our case hasn't been updated since 26 July. Which is funny because UKVI told us in August they had updated our case to include the documents we sent...

I agree and understand that - but the email today from UKVI implies that they only promised to update people, and that seemed to be what you were saying as well.

"We aim to make a decision on your application before 31 October. If for any reason we are unable to do so, we will write to you to update."

They did not say...

It's official - now in the (allegedly) just 1% of people not processed within 120 days from the USA. No word what the problem is, no real hope for when a decision is due. But at least they can tell...
