I never found out I'm afraid. We got our documents in time so in the end our biometrics was 10 days after submitting the online application.

Have you submitted your docs for scanning yet? I'm submitting early on Friday and am hoping for some clues but so far it's all guesswork apart from the vague VFS instructions.
