Caboolture is just a bit of a dodgy area with pretty high crime rate and a lot of bogans, just quite unsafe! Someone recently got stabbed at the Caboolture Train Station so I tend to stay away from...

I can't speak for Melbourne, but Brisbane can get very hot and humid, especially in the summer. It's nice if you're on holiday but it can be painful when you live there. The winters are nice though....

Maybe try somewhere on the Sunshine Coast. It's a lovely place to live (however I would stay away from Caboolture). Chancellor state college primary and Buderim primary are great schools.
