Nope - they want proof of how long I've been driving in the UK (which the DVLA doc provides), and any driving convictions in the last 10 years.

Good advice, thanks. I drive in London most days, so I suspect that Mountain View, CA is fairly calm in comparison :)

Borrowing a driving instructors car seems like a reasonable way to go!
