Have you looked into Transferwise? I've been using it for the past 3 years to pay off credit cards and overdrafts back in the UK.

They seem to have a very generous transfer limit on CAD...

I've just sold a 9 year old car that's been through the Newfoundland winters. It was far from a rust bucket and passed it's inspection first time! There's certainly a healthy used car market here.

If they are "landing" i.e. they are starting their permanent residency by declaring they are a permanent resident to the CBSA officer and going through the process, then I thought this was your ONLY...

Just re-iterating what everyone else has said. Don't worry about filling in any official forms, they will do it for you. Have a couple of copies of your list of good accompanying an goods to follow...

I wouldn't worry about it. I work in IT and I can tell you that the recruitment agents will try any trick to get you into a job because it means $ for them. Sounds like emotional blackmail to me....

Beer sounds good! I think I have a gift card for a shop somewhere in St. John's that sells all of the equipment you need to brew. Once I get settled and get a shed then I'm going to be right on it...
