UK partner entering NZ before NZ partner arrives?

Has anyone been in this situation before? My UK partner's visa (Partner of NZ citizen temporary work visa) arrived today, taking us completely by surprise with how fast it was processed - 5 days!!!!...

Ah right, we are not going for permanent resident we are applying for temporary work visa. Thank you for that link though as I have now found the equivalent page for the Partnership-based Work Visa...
