Re: When to extend UK spouse visa

What confuses me is if you apply on the 5th December, and your visa expires on 5th Jan, what happens when inevitably the HO take longer than the 8 weeks outlined in their guidance to make a decision?...

Re: Almost no communication with our process

Yeah but they send out emails when a decision has been made and when it's time to collect your passport, no? They explicitly say, "Do not contact your VFS center under any circumstances", which my...

Almost no communication with our process

Hello,

Applied priority from Rio, Brazil, on 10th Feb, Bio 23rd Feb. Everything scanned in the VFS center, nothing physical sent to Sheffield.

Re: Waiting for passport ready sms

Not sure, sorry, but shouldn't be long. All I know is that they're taking their sweet time at the moment. Seems to be a slow patch for sure. Only working day 27 of 30 for our priority application...

Re: Question regarding the accommodation requirement

Pretty sure Home Office aren't so bothered about the length of time that will be spent in the accommodation, more about the space, contracts, proof of people living there etc.

I've never seen...

Re: Supporting documents confusion

I'm sure there's a service that gets them to Rio in a decent time but with Brazil you can never be sure. Might even get stolen. Sigh.

Well it says it'll tell you where to send your documents when...

Re: Supporting documents confusion

I see. This is what I hate about the whole process, it's so ambiguous. How is anyone supposed to know that short of coming to a forum and getting help?

So she does the application online, books a...

Supporting documents confusion

Hello,

I'm somewhat confused by the supporting documents.

My wife is in Brazil and I have been working here in the UK.

I'm pretty sure I have what I need to supply covered;

Re: Parent's Accomodation

This is actually good to hear, because the room in my parents house is 8m2 and apparently it needs to be 9m2, an inspection company told me. So if I don't have to get it done then great.

Re: Interesting events - previous overseas worker

Well they get paid regardless. You pay for their "advice" and for them to help you put the application together. Win or lose. I guess a loss might damage their reputation but them not knowing the...

Re: Parent's Accomodation

Again, some people will say no, some people yes. There is no required number of pieces of evidence. Perhaps having photos negates the need or an inspection. See what other people say. I'm putting my...

Re: Interesting events - previous overseas worker

Yes, and I thank you for the help and advice. However, when two lawyers, who charge a fortune for help with the application process advised I wait for 6 months and category A I was slightly taken...

Re: Parent's Accomodation

I was advised to get a property inspection just to be safe. I've been getting quotes of £130 so in the grand scheme of things probably worth it. I don't think they'd reject the application without...

Re: A few questions regarding accommodation and Cat B finance

Yeah I've phoned up a few places - got quotes for £185 and then £130. They were specialist inspectors. Will try a few local estate agents today to see if I can get a lower price.

Unfortunately I think you're right. Thanks for taking a look.

Do you think if I can manage to get a signed letter from the agency AND bank, confirming authenticity, it could work?

The first...

Re: A few questions regarding accommodation and Cat B finance

There is no floor plan for this house as far as I'm aware. Where could I get this? I tried phoning up my council today but predictably couldn't get through.

We have 2 rooms and 1 living room, so...

I'm looking to do it under Cat B, as I've been in New Zealand for 9 of the past 12 months. Am I correct in saying I need all of my...

Re: UK Spouse Visa - Less than 6 months payslip?

I'll be doing this one. Do you know if I can present the 12 month's worth of payslips and bank statements and that's it? Do I also need a letter from that employer? I was working in NZ and the agency...
