thanks Ononno, I will only be in the house 3 months a year at most. Yes family may be there as well but lots of opportunity for someone to find a fully furnished vacant house. What are my options...

Thanks guys.

The property I have seen has a very dated kitchen (if you can call it a kitchen) and bathroom, so would be looking to replace them.

There are limited (although working) power...

Thanks Nicktonight, after reading some of the threads I have to say I was very confused. :-)

Is it just external alterations you have to get permission for - same as the UK?

I have read a lot of threads here warning of this and reading up that you cannot do work yourself....

So to clarify if i was to buy a structurally sound property, electricity, drains and water...
