It would likely take the same length of time as before, and if she can get the GC in 7 months i think she will be better doing. Her thing just now is to make money while waiting for the GC.

The issue is the length of time they take to pay. If anything goes through them its months before they pay so that wouldnt solve her issue

Im a citizen now but before i was when i was doing contract work i was just asked for my drivers license and SSN, i wasnt asked to produce my green card as a 1099 contractor, only if i were a W2...

I wondered on the SSN if she was a 1099 contractor for someone would they require a copy of her visa or would a drivers license be ok?

She has all of her O1 visa paperwork, she has an attorney helping her just now to get the GC. He thinks about 7 months once the application is submitted. I will ask her to talk to him about the LLC...

Basically they would need her SSN to issue a 1099 for taxes based on what she gets paid but that seems to be all she thinks. I know the SSN is attached to the visa though so thats the concern

I dont think theres a union she can go to. It seems to me like they have her over a barrel which is not great!! She can get some cash in hand gigs but not sufficient to keep her going without some...

Thats the issue, Ford are horrible payers, it takes months to get paid. This is why shes looking for other options

She does get work from the Ford agency but they take about 4 months to pay. Its horrible, so she needs to make money in between. The work being offered is totally unrelated to Ford. The visa...
