Re: Musty smell / mold detection

Thanks, I'll have a look at HN and SenQ.

Haven't been able to find any companies dealing in mould detection/removal in Penang, and my landlord is being less than responsive. I found Mould Busters...

Re: Musty smell / mold detection

Ah, they were at Quayside. Not SQ itself. I've seen a few of those condos, sad to hear they have problems as well.

There are no windows at all in my two bathrooms. First order of business will be...

Re: Musty smell / mold detection

Thanks. Bummer. I guess moving to a different SQ condo would be a bad idea?... Really like the place. I suppose they all have the same faulty bathroom construction.

Do you know if Quayside has...

Re: Musty smell / mold detection

That is shitty news, thanks for sharing. Wouldn't have moved in if I had known. I have the same bathroom setup here at SQ and no doubt the same issues, though I'm not aware of any leaks in the walls....

Re: Musty smell / mold detection

Been gone a while, had a friend stay in my condo and there is still a very noticeable smell of mould around.

I'd like to have my place thoroughly cleaned by a reputable company to get rid of the...

Re: Parking @ Padang Besar

Thanks. I shan't have to cross that border into Thailand more than once anytime soon, God willing.

I'd prefer driving myself, if there is anywhere safe I can park my car in Padang Besar... I've...

Parking @ Padang Besar

I need to go to Hat Yai in Thailand for 1-2 days, and I need to use the Padang Besar border crossing (pets). Has anybody here parked their car in Padang Besar overnight? Is it safe, do they have any...

Contractor recommendation for a small job

I have found a place in Penang that I will be moving to and now need to build a cat enclosure there (I'm not allowed to let them roam free, and invisible fences etc. are not practical for various...

Musty smell / mold detection

So while house hunting in Penang, I've also started considering condos. My current favourite (location, size, condition) has been empty for 6+ months as the owner has been trying to sell it,...

Re: Robberies in landed properties Bt Ferringhi and Tg Bungah

Yes, I was asking so I'd have an idea of the costs involved. A landlord might be OK with a small investment but not a major one.

The properties I've been looking in don't have any major security...

Re: Robberies in landed properties Bt Ferringhi and Tg Bungah

Sensible advice. I'm currently shopping around for a place to rent. Other than walls and guards at the gate, I don't think any of the places I've seen thus far have had much in terms of security....

Re: Robberies in landed properties Bt Ferringhi and Tg Bungah

Was anyone caught for this? Moonlight Bay seems posh, I guess they didn't invest enough in security though.

Re: Ferringhi Villas

Yes, thank you. I'm aware of the requirements, remains to figure out how to get them to Penang since none of the airlines flying directly from Bkk to Penang transport pets in any form or shape. I'll...

Re: Buying a Business in Malaysia

AFAIK you can run any kind of Labuan company and get a renewable work permit which will let you stay 2 years at a time - although your company will need a minimum capital of RM 250,000.
