Re: POE via Dublin, Ire.

It was the cheapest flight at the time of booking it and my parents wanted to buy it for me as a leaving gift. I went with a cheaper option so as to not make them pay for more. If I miss my...

Re: POE via Dublin, Ire.

Yeah, that's what I meant. Thanks.

What were people's experiences like during those moments? What did you say when you were asked why you are there? I assume something along the lines of "I'm...

Re: POE via Dublin, Ire.

So, quick question. When I arrive at the POE, which line do I get into? The line for all international immigrants, right?

Re: Adjustment of status birth certificate problem

Ian's right. I went to visit my wife twice during the visa process. I just took letters from my boss that I was expected to return to work each time. The second time I even took a copy of the e-mail...

Re: Cheap and Fast

I guess it depends on what he recognizes to be quick. My IR-1 took 6 months from filling out the first forms, to having my passport and immigration packet back in my hands, and I would consider that...

Re: Moving to the USA

I'm going to add to this, because I just went through an experience with the tax returns. My wife never filed federal tax returns either, since she lived in the UK for over 8 years and during that...

Re: Chest XRay Envelope

Thanks for that. Don't worry, the big envelope is safely tucked away in a travel case.

Chest XRay Envelope

Hi everyone,

One last question, I promise. My experience is almost over (hopefully). I picked up my visa documents today, and that's all good. I got my passport, the letter with my Alien...

Re: POE via Dublin, Ire.

Yeah, I see the advantages. I can pay it off before I go. I get another month's pay after I leave the UK, so I thought about using that and paying it while I was in the United States, that's all.

Re: POE via Dublin, Ire.

Yeah, I read that. The link I shared also said you could do it afterwards too, and since there are so many differing opinions, I thought I'd get some feedback on that, too. It's all good.

Re: POE via Dublin, Ire.

Thanks everyone for your input. It's given me a lot to think about.

Somewhat off the subject, but I'd rather ask here than create another thread; do I have to pay the USCIS Immigration fee before...

Re: POE via Dublin, Ire.

I'm only thinking about it right no. If there's the potential for it to take a long time, I probably wouldn't do that and use an alternative method, like get a direct flight to Washington-Dulles from...

Re: POE via Dublin, Ire.

Thanks for that. I just thought of another question. How long does the whole POE process take to do when you're first arriving with your immigration paperwork?

POE via Dublin, Ire.

So tomorrow I'll be picking up my passport and envelope of documents so I can move to the United States. Thanks to everyone for the advice they've given me here during my own individual process.

I...

Re: US Visa Interview Question

It's just something that's going to play on my mind, I guess, since I didn't get a definite black or white answer out of him, but the guy never said anything like "I need more evidence" or "your...

I attached a picture with what it says right now. It hasn't changed since yesterday; I had a look at this stuff when I got back yesterday. I'm assuming it's because my interview was yesterday and...

US Visa Interview Question

So I went for my visa interview at the London Embassy yesterday. Like many people here described, it was a very short experience, as I think I was only in embassy for about an hour or so at the most....
