Re: S1 NHS Form

Basically in those circumstances nothing has changed. Technically you need an Italian EH1C for a short trip to the UK, longer then an S1 (Italian) would suffice if you are eligible for such (receipt...

Re: S1 NHS Form

Best if you think of the UK as just like an EU country (or those non-EU countries that operate within the EU) A form S1 would be needed if an EHIC was not applicable e.g. you are there for more than...

Re: Italian pension contributions and work history

I'm pretty sure you can't transfer contribution, neither from the UK or to the UK (or any other EU country for that matter). What they do is pass a copy of your records and use it in a pro-rata...

Re: Help with IMU taxes and other yearly property taxes

Things may have changed, but I doubt very much. I would hazard a guess at a lot less than €1000/yr. But it's likely your rubbish tax (TARI) will be the same addition again. Find your Comune website...

Re: Help with IMU taxes and other yearly property taxes

I would consider it not a large amount, but it depends what you consider large.... You can calculate it here online (https://www.riscotel.it/calcoloIMU2023/?COMUNE=XXXX), BUT you need the relevant...

Re: British Corner Shop

It was a service, if expensive. We wanted 500gr jars of marmite and once... got x10 at BCS at a decent price and no delivery cost. service was first rate - so seems a bit of a loss for some...

Re: Commercialista advice

Charging tax on your UK bank account (IVAFE) should be challenged in court. What happens if you have it paid into an online only account (not taxed in Italy?) or someone else's account (you can) or a...

Re: Christmas greetings

Sorry to hear about your loss Lugsbug. Do you ever get bored with the train journey? Our trip were a lot shorter, but many. I loved my trips up the NE coast of England and never tired of it.

Re: Christmas greetings

PS Lorna, M&S do some very nice looking (if expensive) chocolate SPROUTs which I'm sure you would like. I tried to get some online (posh Ocado) but they were...

Re: Getting air conditioning installed

Like I said my interest was more to do with looking at air-filtering for a small bungalow for avoiding high humidity here in the UK. That did lead me on to combination units that dealt with heat,...

Re: Getting air conditioning installed

Do people in Italy ever use standalone units? I've looked briefly here in the UK for both heating and cooling (which if I live long enough I'm sure we will need) and came across what looked like...

C.2s Think your intention to check with ACI is the best way forward. I really just wanted to wish you all the best from someone who knows how complex these decisions can be. Getting on for 5 years...

Re: High price of olive oil

Most of the oil you get here in the UK is absolute rubbish compared to that we bought (or made) at the frantoio, but we did eventually find one that was a little better than most. Trouble is it...

Re: Claiming Italian pension

First thing I would reiterate is, if you have reached pension age in the country you formally apply to get a pension, they will have to give a formal decision which will have the right to appeal....
