I just received the letter saying that my waiver has been approved. This is for a spouse immigrant visa.
Can someone please outline - step by step- what the next steps should be and approximate...

So I have flexibility/choice in my employment, not afraid of getting booted out if there's a problem with my job and can start the process for citizenship sooner

My spouse visa interview was in London Embassy in April last year. My Waiver of Inadmissibility was approved by USCIS 2 weeks ago. Today London Embassy NVC contacted me to say I needed new doctors...

This morning USCIS said "we approved your Form I-601, Application for Waiver of Grounds of Inadmissibility". They have apparently sent me an I797 and I should call them back if I haven't received it...

Quick update: It has been 8 months and 3 weeks and I have no waiver yet. The immigration lawyers appointed by my firm say this is probably NOT due to the fact i am simultaneously applying...

Seems strange that yours took 5 months when I'm already over 7. I wonder if type of visa/offence makes a difference.

Ian - any idea WHY it took 17 months? I'm up to 29 weeks. Does the nature of the offence matter? Mine was possession of small amount of cannabis 15 years ago, no offences since.
