yes sorry apologies, we had UK house up for sale just before lockdown and OH planned to put retirement date in on house sale.
obvs like thousands of others our plans have had to change considerably....

yeah we can afford to retire on pensions without continuing with additional income ... it’s the taxation differences im weighing up . The sun is obviously the pull. Is it worth that extra tax ;-)

Ok I’d appreciate a little help to check I’m reading the residency info correctly as with deadline ticking we are still up and down deciding what to do for the best for our future / retirement ... 🙏...

Hi Rosemary he is not eligible until June 2025.

When he retires he has a occupational pension and I will have a pension too and I know we need to do a tax return every year as we have done this...

So am I right in saying in comparison to above scenario which would happen if we leave it till next year .... or after December in any...

well COVID has definitely caused us problems as we worry about quarantines for visitors and for us returning which wouldn’t be regular but I also don’t want to not have choice of visiting my family...

hey thanks for reply his employer suggested it as in line manager but I guess that’s not HR so they are not thinking of logistics. Defo food for thought. Need to look into this. Thanks.

We already have had an apartment in Spain for the last 5 years.. We have NIE numbers. We have had Spanish bank accounts for 5 years with funds being paid in. We have paid accounts for several years. ...

it seriously awful!! I’m helping out on lots of forums with benefits advice. The mortgage holidays of 3 months do seem to be giving out readily in UK. It’s not much but ... 🙏

Does anyone know if the Spanish gov are encouraging banks to allow mortgage holiday payments to anyone affected financially by COVID.

cool ! And how long do you need to leave in brexit ?? It’s not a problem as we will be retired but need a I know to weigh up whether to go for residency or come back to Scotland . But don’t want to...

i would like to be resident but some folk are suggesting that as we don’t won’t to emigrate as we intend to and will eventually have homes in both countries (Spain & Scotland)...
