I think you're usually best off checking a review site like Yelp. That way you can see if a bunch of people think the company/person is good or not. I've always had hit or miss luck when it comes...

For hostels, hostelz is pretty much the only way to go for finding them because it has links to the real websites of the hostels and ratings and all that. Edmonton hostels on Hostelz...

I'm hoping you only plugged in stuff that says on it that it's ok for 110. Even some of the stuff I had that said it was ok for 110 stopped working after a while.
