Re: Plastic green card mail time?

That's interesting: I arrived into the US on November 17th 2017 and received my Green Card December 14th 2017. I paid the fee before I left the UK. Luck of the draw I guess!

Re: Travel to the US after visa issued

Thanks for everyone's input.

I found this paragraph in the I-864 Instructions:

"Specific Requirements
Who Completes and Signs Form I-864?
A sponsor completes and signs Form I-864. A sponsor...

Re: Travel to the US after visa issued

The person who posted said something about the UKC wanting to get to the US soon after approval to start his job. Not sure if another 5 weeks would be an issue.

Re: Travel to the US after visa issued

Thank you all. That's what I thought.

Tom, thankfully I completed the process last year so I'm 'safely' in the US already. The Facebook group I'm part of is just for general info and advice. Hence...

Hi all,

I'm a member of an expats Facebook group and someone just posted asking if the UKC CR-1 (or IR-1) applicant can travel to the US before the USC spouse (she needs to stay in the UK for an...

Re: My POE experience - Pittsburgh International Airport

Congratulations and welcome. I arrived last November and found the whole POE experience very anticlimactic. Not really sure what I was expecting but hey ho. Glad it all went smoothly for you.

Re: Depressive disorder

I'd imagine the word 'resolved' is key here. And if they ask you about it, you just tell them what you told us here.

Re: CR-1 Interview experience at London

I had a wait of just two business days until my status changed to 'issued'. Then I think a 24 hour wait to be able to collect it from the Bristol courier depot.

You'll be State-side before you...

Re: New requirement for medical in London - May 2017

Hi there. You will probably need to post this question in the forum itself, rather than in the pinned 'Read Me' post (see message from Rete above).

But my answer to you in brief would be to call...

Re: New York Drivers License

What's the deal with informing DVLA of being abroad? My UK bank account is registered at my parent's address. Is it ok to do that with a driving license?

Re: New York Drivers License

I agree. I simply guess that it's easier to have everyone do the same test in the same way from the same starting point.

Re: New requirement for medical in London - May 2017

I can't find a more recent version of the file I have which is here: https://uk.usembassy.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/16/2016/08/IV018a-IV-medical-letter-Aug-2016.pdf

But this states that the fee...

Re: New York Drivers License

Hi all, just found this thread. I'm in NY (Long Island). I hold a full UK license (driving for 20 years) and I'm covered by my wife's insurance to drive her car.

Does anyone know if I would have...

Re: POE experience on IR-1 visa at JFK Terminal 7, 5th December 2017

I paid the green card fee the night before my POE into JFK. I arrived on November 17th and my green card arrived in the mail on December 14th. My SS card had arrived on the 29th of November, so it...

Congratulations on your eventful and eventual arrival! Crikey what a time you've had! I flew on the same Friday as you, albeit into JFK a few hours earlier than you, but we had terrible turbulence...

Re: Social security number

It sounds like I have been one of the lucky ones: I arrived into the States on November 17th and my SS arrived in the mail on November 29th!

I'm hoping that the green card arrives just as...

Re: Calling all i-130 and i-130a people

Yes I put N/A or 0 (zero) in all sections which did not apply to me. This is to show that you didn't accidentally miss the question.

Re: POE Experience - New York JFK November 2017 (CR-1)

I filed via NVC rather than doing DCF which immediately adds a number of months to the length of the process. I've seen members on here who have have filed DCF and been completed...

Re: POE Experience - New York JFK November 2017 (CR-1)

I did use those words, but in all honesty I don't think he really listened to or heard me. I think he saw the big white envelope and, I guess, realised what it was. He certainly wasn't...
