Hi Marcjay, can't help with a shipping company, i sent mainly clothes and used USPS in the end.Do make sure you apply for a TRANSFER OF RESIDENCE CODE though, otherwise you will get charged customs...

i just read on one of the information forms to write "PERSONAL BELONGINGS' on the customs declaration when mailed do you think this would help at customs?

Just tried filling that form in, crazy! Do you really need all those forms in the "enclosures" section including invoices for everything! I'm sending mainly clothes and some smaller household items...

Nun, Thanks, you have to do everything online with Vanguard, not my strength, while i could set it all up in person with Fidelity and use ETF'S with them aswell as long as i set it up before...

Nun, what exactly do you mean by "non-toxic" and i was thinking of using Fidelity instead of Vanguard as they have a brick and mortar office nearby

shipping from the USA west coast to the UK

I need to ship some boxes of clothes from Seattle on the west coast of the US, to Doncaster back in the UK.It's around $5 a lb via USPS, wondering if i can do better than that. Thanks

Any insights on the least expensive way to transfer funds from a US bank account to a UK account would be appreciated. Did a transfer today and the mark up on the exchange rate was from 1.33 to 1.38,...
