Moved to Dubai in September, now living in Mira off Al Qudra Street. The past couple of weeks we've all suddenly started getting eaten alive if we sit in the garden (we've only started...

Re: Living in Dubai with kids

Yeah fair play, thanks to you both for this, definitely re-thinking this now.

Re: Living in Dubai with kids

That's really helpful, thanks. No she's not worked in the ME before. We did both work in Hong Kong for a couple of years. But no, she wouldn't have any existing contacts or anything. But if the basic...

Re: Living in Dubai with kids

Thanks, that's very helpful

Solidarity! Our eldest is three, and has been at nursery since January. Since then we've basically all been ill. She brings some virus or other home with her every...

Living in Dubai with kids

Hi all

I am hoping to make the move over to Dubai some point this year, and am working out the sums. Thanks to Autonomy for the spreadsheet in the Is It Worth It Thread, that's been really useful...

Re: "chiller free" villas -- how can that be?

Thanks everyone.

Thanks for that. So what does that translate into in terms of monthly costs / savings? For example, I've budgeted approximately AED3k / month for utilities, for a 5 bedroom...

Re: Paying tax on return to UK after being away for less than a full tax-year

I'm just going from SRT summaries, and the HMRC calculator. But:

Re: Paying tax on return to UK after being away for less than a full tax-year

Re: Paying tax on return to UK after being away for less than a full tax-year

Thanks for the reply.

I am not sure where you are going with the not being paid until 5 April angle [...] The only legal way to avoid the situation, is to stay out of the...
