The minimum incomes quoted don't seem to take account of whether you own your home or not - that makes a huge difference in the income needed. For myself, I fortunately also have an Irish passport,...

Just a suggestion; if you can find websites for local Irish newspapers you might find ads from individual landlords - they're likely to be more flexible than agencies. Good luck.

Thanks for your response - very useful. I read that France had been insisting that early retirees had private healthcare but have been pressured by the EU to comply with the scheme outlined above....

Ha ha! Water is cheaper than I expected, but might be different cost on the mainland. Would certainly utilise water butts to save what rain I can. Thanks.
