I agree, so unnecessary.

My situation means I could be raising a son all alone in UK with no support watsoever financially....The flat is ours in HK, hubby and mine and NO he gets to live in it...

heehee, yes i have been paying my taxes in hk and this is under my tax agreement so i shouldnt be liable in uk, thanks for clarifying and its just what my friend said. thanks again.

in terms of moving money over to uk i.e from my company's retirement fund once i leave, would there be any tax implications to moving money over there?

me too, sometimes i wonder i should stay put, yes all my family r back home and will help me with my son bbsit etc. but i want to work p/t so i have the time to look aftee my own son rather than dump...

i have dual nationality, my uk passport plus permanent ID card in HK, there are no restrictions on my pp. thanks for the info. if i worked p/t does that mean i have to work 16 hrs or more a week to...

ok read that, thanks. yes he is allowing our child to return to the UK, initially he won't be able to afford to pay child maintainance for our child, so i have to do it alone. the father is not...

long story short: left uk at 16, been abroad all these years, moving back to uk next year...17 years later... as a single mum to one boy.

i have never paid taxes in uk because i have never worked....

ahhh thanks guys, yup it will be a very tough decision, and my hubby isnt keen to budge so early, he was thinking more of retirement age we head back to UK LOL We are not wealthy really, we both work...
