I am confused as to why we couldn't get this done at our local Kormanyablak (in Ózd). This is the same office where we got our HU driving licences from, with no problem.

We are still waiting for our new cards. We had our confirmation letters about 3 weeks ago! It is now 2.5 months since we went to the immigration office. Is this normal?

Wow! that's changed a bit, much better than when I saw it last. Our immigration officer said they were still "improving" it and it looks like he was right.

yes, that's what I did. Found lots of shops in Budapest and the surrounding area, but no-one that sells dope or even tissue.
