If we moved country we would learn the language beforehand. France is not one of our choices.

I don't see how people can actually be stranded but it's a crazy concept just like country...

Do you mind me asking are you retired?
The UK paying the benefits would be the ideal system as we've paid in for some time. My wife although a US citizen has paid UK tax through a number of jobs...

British citizenship costs around £1k and we've always found better things to do with the money as she has all naturalised rights in UK.
The eu doesn't sound as free of movement as it first appears

So far I can't see any rules about those who exist entirely on benefits migrating. All info is about at least one person working.
