My CEAC status was updated today, so I'm going to take Ian's advice, calm the hell down and just take that as a good sign that things are moving.

Stanford offer a lot of support to their Post Docs including subsidized housing. They also generally have a lot jobs working admin etc going, so you may well be able to work there and save money on...
